ALL GOD'S BEGGARS © A.Zable/ K.Mazzella The beggar at the side of the road says " brother, any spare change?" You glare straight ahead " don't encourage them !" you say and walk up that Progress Hill Shall we walk up the progress hill dear friends where the rules are all that matter? where your heart is colder than winter's snow we will walk, we will walk together.... In the dead of night, there's a knock at the door the urgent voice tells you to flee you must find a safe place your freedom there's no queue when you run for your life Alleluia! Alleluia! you must find a safe place your freedom there's no queue when you run for your life On a sinking boat a woman gave birth off the coast of Java while a Christmas Card I gave to my love celebrated the birth of another Alleluia! Alleluia! while a Christmas Card I gave to my love celebrated the birth of another What is it that we fear so much what is it dear Australia? we are a land full of refugees and this good land has been our saviour Alleluia Alleluia we are a land full of refugees and this good land has been our saviour Let the children sing this song and gather round our fire let our hands undo the bully's grip that puts them behind Razor wire Alleluia Alleluia The beggar at the side of the road says" brother give me shelter" sit down wish him well and share your meal after all aren't we all God's beggars

Venezuela 05:37
VENEZUELA © K Mazzella Off the coast of Venezuela boats bob like little corks Sailors wont you take me with you Cross the horizon to my home I am tired of being an exile But with you it seems so easy To unlock my box of secrets that stumble from my tongue for free As they spill into your lap my shame’s a dress dropped on the sand I feel the air move around my aching skin and swollen history As you take me in As you take me in Before you I am naked It’s not just my body holds your gaze A thousand ghosts and demons dance here In the middle of my blaze Like a swarm , soldiers came to our door Beat us up -now we spit blood on the shores of Europe, America, Australia Everywhere, we fill these skies With bloodstained butterflies While our books and families lie scattered on the floors Of the empty rooms In the ruined houses In the empty rooms Off the coast of Venezuela The breeze blows through our little room The Sailors have all gone drinking We’re like twins Inside a womb, inside a womb ….
